BRAZIL, Educational specialist, psychotherapist and writer
Identifying himself as a sensitive person, Leo believes that his personality is one of the main reasons he chose to study Psychology, ultimately wishing to understand people’s minds and how he can help them.
After reading the book ‘The Neverending Story’ by Michel Ende whilst in high school, Leo made the decision to study Psychology at University, having come to the realisation that we are all beings driven by dreams. Another important literary influence for Leo was the book ‘A Psychologist at a concentration camp’ by Viktor Frankl, whom Leo credits as his theoretical inspiration, having helped him realise that, although dreams are important, they may ultimately come to nothing unless we have a definitive direction or ‘project’ in mind for our lives.
Leo completed a Master’s Degree on “The importance of the participation of parents in school education” at the University of Sao Paulo and has held titles such as: ‘Specialist in School Education and Human Development’ and ‘Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming’.
Leo has written 20 books and given numerous lectures in countries such as Argentina, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Africa and Portugal and has held a number of teaching positions, having been a Professor teaching Cognitive Psychology at Paulista University (Brazil) for 7 years, a Cognitive Psychology Educational Counsellor for 8 years and a teacher at Guilherme Dumont Villares School (Brazil) for 11 years, focusing on Healthy Development and Life Project Design.
