I’ve just come back from the trip of a lifetime. Visiting and speaking in India.

I was invited to the very first PEP Talks by the truly inspiring Swati Popat Vats of Jumbo Kids which is part of the Podar Education Group. The Podar Group were established in 1927 and are highly regarded in the field of education.

In fact the first president of the Podar Group was Mahatma Gandhi and they follow his educational philosophy in nurturing children.

Mahatma Gandhi said that,’ Real education consists in drawing out the best out of yourself’, and that is what they aim to do at Podar Jumbo Kids.

I love the fact that they don’t test or rank children or make them aware of their faults and weakness, instead they help them identify their potential and create happy learners by implementing the Head, Heart and Hand philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi.

I started off by visiting Bangalore and speaking to some parents there about how to take parenting from frustrating to fun quickly and easily. Then I went to Mumbai to launch a wonderful new book called “Born Smart – Nurturing your child’s potential in the first 1000 days (birth to 3 years)” by Dr. Stephen Rushton (USA), Toni Christie (NZ), Swati Popat Vats (India) Karen Graham (UK)

Born Smart is the World’s first video based parenting website for parents with children from birth to 36 months and the videos are absolutely fantastic.

Born Smart is a collection of age appropriate 5 minute videos that have games based on brain research and educational theories that parents can play with their kids which help nurture their brain development and social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical skills.

The wonderfully simple and fun activities understand the importance of brain development in early years and they help parents create environments at home that will prove to be enriching experiences for their child to be nurtured in.

I love the idea of collaboration as early childhood and parenting experts from U.K, U.S.A, Wales, New Zealand and India have come together to create the “Born Smart” parenting experience based on games and interactions.

I was thrilled to be involved in launching the colourful and practical book that accompanies the website.

I fell in love with India – the sights, the sounds and the people.

It was a truly magical experience and being part of the 1st ever PEP Talks was truly an honour speaking alongside such eminent speakers as Jane Evans Trauma Parenting Expert & Trainer, Dr  Harish Shetty a Psychiatrist in Vileparle East, Mumbai and Swati Popat Vats President- Podar Education Network

I look forward to returning to India to pass on my passion for parenting and it was so fantastic to meet and work with Swati Popat Vats an inspirational speaker and educationalist who is inspiring the next generation of parents to be the best they can be.

Go and explore Swati Popat Vats, President- Podar Education Network, watch the inspiring and simple videos that will transform your child’s experiences and buy the wonderful book that will enhance your child’s brain development, language skills and social interaction.
