Today I’m delighted to have the very enthusiastic and wonderful Claire Young as my guest blogger. Some of you may remember Claire from the hit TV show, The Apprentice. She reached the final in 2008. Since then she has been actively working on several projects which are designed to empower and enable young people in enterprise.

Her role is firstly as a businesswomen and she has two main areas of focus. These are School Speakers – A business providing quality motivational speakers (including her), for schools, colleges and universities.

Additionally, she has a site called Girls Out Loud. The aim of this project is to inspire young girls, between the ages of 13 and 18  to raise their work and life goals and aspirations.

Claire is also launching on November 1st the UK’s first business start up scheme for under 18s. One student per month will receive up to £500 funding, a mentor and a start up kit.

Applications open 1st November 2011 for awards to start from 1st January 2012 so get involved and pass this blog on to all your friends – this is a wonderful opportunity to empower young people !
