My lovely 82 year old father -in-law came to stay today and has been battling the trauma and shock of going in for an operation on his prostrate and falling off the bed in the recovery room, due to negligence of the hospital. They forgot to put up the side bars on the bed while they were washing some impliments.
He is not a man to make a fuss, prefers to defer to authority but he has been suffering great pain in his neck and shoulder as he fell flat onto the floor while unconscious.
My husband has been fighting his corner with the hospital who have accepted their mistake but he arrived today looking tired and stiff as he has had 8 weeks of physiotherapy so I asked him if he’d like to try tapping or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to relieve his aches and pains and also to clear the trauma he suffered in the fall.
He has seen me tap my mother – in – law with much success with her arthritis pain so he said, “Well, let’s give it a go!”
We went through the tapping a couple of times and he smiled, looked a little sheepish as he’s not used to this sort of thing and said, “Gosh….. it’s gone !”
I’m so pleased as he is such a kind man, does so much for us as a family, and doesn’t deserve to be in pain and I’m really pleased he feels empowered and curious to “have a go” at something a bit out of his comfort zone.
As I write he’s moving logs from the boot of his car into our fireplace, with a smile on his face.
